Years ago, while watching the Hong Kong film Anna Magdalena, I was struck bythe character Wu, a piano tuner, and Kelly, who repeatedly played Bach's Minuet.The light and playful melody sparked in me the desire to creale a work inspiredby the film.Throughout my years of practice in spatial design, I often encountered clientswishing to place a piano in their homes. Yet finding a piano bench that was bothaesthetically pleasing and harmoniously integrated into the space was alwayschallenging-almost impossible. These two threads eventually converged andprompted me to design a piece of furniture inspired by the piano itself.In this work, I inverted the keyboard, creating a visual contrast with the pianobody. The keys of the furniture can be "touched, as if producing an invisiblemelody. ls symbolic form cchoes the langible instrumcnt,allowing furnitureand piano to naturally resonate within the space. It serves not only as afunctional obiect, but also as an extension of music, emotion, and art.
